The Apple Cloud Engineering Architecture team is looking for an exceptional software engineer who is a both generalist (able to think big picture and effective at operating across a wide range of functions), and who is able to dive deep into details in a focused and effective way to unblock progress and move projects forward. In this role, you will work at the intersection of hardware and software for all things data center. Projects will range from defining requirements for factory & data center operations during the NPI phase, to architecting and developing new APIs that enable scheduling systems to make power-aware decisions. Fleet data analysis & visualization, as well as prototype development and demos will be required to inform architectural decisions and requirements for future projects, as well as gain cross functional support required for leading the execution of our team's designs with clarity and purpose. You will need to be able to both implement ideas in a way that achieves results and represent your progress in large, cross-functional and executive forums. This is a highly collaborative, individual contributor role that will require you to quickly foster trust across functions and build influence through expertise, results, and a robust internal relational network that you will build. This role is at the center of multiple efforts to facilitate new product introduction activities and you will work on a range of projects including co-architecting, building, and integrating a software system that maximizes power utilization and efficiency at data center scale with minimal impact to workload performance for Apple's recently announced privacy cloud compute platform. This position is new, in a small team, and comes with a lot of opportunity for growth and self-direction under general guidance. It requires initiative, creativity, a results orientation, and a highly collaborative approach to be effective. Come build the data center of the future with us!
