About the position

Join us in advancing the future of electric vehicles at Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies by taking a pivotal role in contributing to the software releases that enhance the everyday experience for our customers. As part of the Software Release Management team, you will be responsible for the quality and stability of our monthly software updates delivered over-the-air (OTA). This role involves collaborating closely with the software development, integration, and validation teams to ensure seamless delivery of new software releases across multiple programs and variants.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with leadership and UI/UX teams to validate feature definitions and provide actionable feedback for improving user experience.
  • Support program-level system integration efforts, ensuring seamless interaction between new hardware and existing software.
  • Assist in the fleet management of the System Integration team's test assets and leverage specific configurations for the most efficient and thorough testing.
  • Execute and help coordinate daily testing activities to support monthly over-the-air (OTA) software releases, ensuring high-quality delivery of updates and new features.
  • Develop, execute, and manage detailed daily test plans, covering functional verification, bug fixes, regression testing, and system integration validation.
  • Perform hands-on ad-hoc testing of vehicle-level features involving domains such as controls, connectivity, infotainment, and platform.
  • Help identify, root cause, prioritize, and resolve high impact user facing issues with various domain teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • B.S.+ in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of dependencies between various electrical & mechanical systems.
  • Experience with systems engineering / automotive network architecture / vehicle integration.
  • Strong working knowledge of automotive electrical systems and communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and relevant debug tools.
  • Hands-on experience debugging complex systems that involve multiple ECUs with interfaces to various vehicle sub-systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
  • Proactively collaborate cross-functionally with other teams to solve vehicle-level integration problems.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle safety concepts and testing-related safety procedures.
  • Flexibility to travel domestically/internationally (up to 25%).
  • Clean driving record.
  • Professional experience driving prototype test-vehicles in test-tracks.
