About The Position

The Sr. Systems Administrator at Charles IT is responsible for providing expert-level support and leading complex technical projects. This role involves designing, implementing, and supporting cloud infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues, and maintaining network devices and services. The position emphasizes collaboration, communication, and documentation, contributing to the overall success of the IT team and the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the IT field
  • MCSE 2012/2016 or VCP 6/6.5 certification (preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in IT (preferred)
  • Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Datto, VMware, Office 365, and Mac OS (a plus)
  • AWS or Azure experience (a plus)
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • High attention to detail and organization, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the success of a growing company and client base

Nice To Haves

  • MCSE 2012/2016 or VCP 6/6.5 certification
  • Experience with Cisco, Meraki, Datto, VMware, Office 365, and Mac OS
  • AWS or Azure experience

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and support cloud infrastructure
  • Provide support and troubleshooting to resolve technical issues for end users
  • Support Microsoft-related technologies: Windows Server, Office 365/Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.
  • Support virtual environments including VMware and Hyper-V
  • Support backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Configure, install, and support various network devices and services, including WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, & security
  • Liaise with third-party vendors and other IT personnel for problem-resolution
  • Effectively communicate with customers on ticket progress, impending changes, or agreed outages
  • Maintain strong client system documentation to include system reviews and recommendations
  • Maintain daily documentation by entering time, expenses, and all work as service tickets in ConnectWise
  • Other duties as assigned
