About the position

The Sr Tableau Reports/ETL Developer will serve as a Lead Developer, engaging in various stages of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirements verification, design, development, testing, maintenance, and support. The role focuses on supporting existing .NET applications and participating in the development of a new SACWIS system, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and ongoing maintenance. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining SSRS reports and SSIS ETL packages, supporting SOA integration initiatives, and collaborating with the System Integrator to verify deliverables and configurations.

Responsibilities

• Develop Tableau Reports based on user requirements and deploy them to the report server or integrated SharePoint report server.
• Assist in designing and developing database architecture including relational data structures, data marts, and logical and physical data models.
• Develop strategies for data acquisition, quality, and discrepancy resolution.
• Assist in migrating and integrating data from legacy systems to new applications and technologies.
• Create and maintain efficient SQL scripts, stored procedures, and triggers using Microsoft T-SQL according to business rules.
• Access data from various database management systems such as DB2 and SQL Server.
• Design, develop, and implement ETL/ELT solutions for data ingestion, cleansing, and distribution.
• Implement data analytics best practices in data modeling and ETL pipelines.
• Coordinate with Business Analysts and users to validate requirements.
• Integrate external data with in-house data solutions.
• Perform tests, validate data flows, and prepare ETL processes according to business requirements.
• Design and implement a data conversion strategy from legacy to new platforms.
• Perform design validation, reconciliation, and error handling in data load processes.
• Optimize SSIS package execution and SQL execution for performance.
• Design SSIS packages for data exchange tasks including file transfers and secure file transfers.
• Involve in all stages of the data process including requirements gathering, data mapping, extraction, loading, testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and maintenance.

Requirements

• 10+ years of prior experience in IT professional services, particularly in roles similar to Solution Architect.
• 5+ years of experience with Tableau.
• 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries.
• 5+ years of expertise with TSQL, SSRS, SSIS, or Talend.
• Experience in debugging and improving query performance.
• Experience deploying SSIS packages using git check-in and setting up environmental variables in SQL Agent.
• Experience with Transact-SQL and stored procedures.
• Experience creating, deploying, and maintaining Talend reports.
• Experience with code control/version using Team Foundation.
• Strong problem-solving and cross-functional analysis skills.
