About the position

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Senior Technician for Security to join our Clearance Administration Team. This role is critical in ensuring that personnel security clearances (PCL) are processed and maintained in compliance with the 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other relevant government directives. The position requires a strong understanding of security protocols and the ability to manage sensitive information effectively. As a Senior Technician, you will be responsible for coordinating, initiating, and maintaining personnel security clearances using various systems such as DISS, NBIS, eApp, and SIMS. This includes collecting fingerprints and uploading them into the government database, verifying clearance and briefing statuses for access to secure workspaces, and processing both domestic and foreign visit requests. You will also be tasked with submitting Adverse Information Reports to the government and tracking foreign travel of cleared employees. Facilitating classified meetings and coordinating security training sessions, including Insider Threat Briefings and other necessary annual training, will also be part of your responsibilities. Providing professional support and proactive customer service to both internal and external customers is essential in this role, as is operating in accordance with corporate policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, initiate, and maintain personnel security clearances in DISS, NBIS, eApp, and SIMS.
  • Collect fingerprints and upload them into the government database.
  • Verify clearance and briefing status for requests to access secure workspaces.
  • Process incoming and outgoing domestic and foreign visit requests.
  • Submit Adverse Information Reports to the government.
  • Track and report foreign travel of cleared employees.
  • Facilitate classified meetings.
  • Coordinate initial and annual security training, Insider Threat Briefings, and other necessary training.
  • Provide professional support and proactive customer service to coworkers and customers.

Requirements

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance.
  • Strong customer service experience required.
  • Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Office Suite).
