About the position

The Sr. Technical Account Manager (TAM) at AWS is responsible for driving customer adoption and maximizing the value of AWS services for enterprise-level clients. This role involves crafting and executing technical cloud strategies, providing advocacy and strategic guidance, and ensuring operational health of customer environments. The TAM acts as a technical leader and customer advocate, facilitating discussions with senior leadership on operational excellence and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Craft and execute technical cloud strategies to drive customer adoption of AWS services.
  • Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to customers.
  • Maintain operational health of customer AWS environments.
  • Develop close relationships with customers to understand their business needs and technical challenges.
  • Represent AWS in discussions with senior leadership regarding operational excellence and cloud maturity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Math, or related discipline, and 5+ years of equivalent work experience or 7+ years of related work experience.
  • 5+ years of technical engineering experience.
  • Experience in Information Technology operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars.
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead.
  • Experience applying technical or operational expertise to solve complex challenges.
  • Professional oral and written communication skills, especially in presenting to executive audiences.
  • Experience building resilient, secure, cost-effective, and performant systems.
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment.
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings.
