About the position

The Sr Technical Writer at Volitiion IIT Inc. is responsible for creating comprehensive and user-friendly documentation for IT projects. This role involves collaborating with IT project managers, developers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure that documentation accurately reflects system functionality. The position requires a strong understanding of technical writing best practices and proficiency in documentation tools.

Responsibilities

• Create documentation including user manuals, operational guides, training materials, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Determine the clearest way to present information for maximum reader comprehension.
• Proofread documents to ensure adherence to grammatical and formatting standards.
• Elicit documentation from IT departments for storage in the IT Technical Documentation Repository.
• Format and upload documentation to the IT Technical Documentation Repository and Comprehensive Repository.
• Develop media content and instructional videos in compliance with accessibility and quality standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in English, Communication, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technical writing position, or 10 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Proficient in documentation tools and version control.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to tailor content to various audiences and familiarity with style guides.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with AP style guide.
• Experience in SOW and RFP development.
