About the position
This position is responsible for delivering and supporting Products and Services in Syniverse's staging and production environments. The role requires a high degree of experience and skill across multiple functions in software development, operations, and support, particularly in the telecommunications and cellular industry. The incumbent will lead a team transitioning to a DevOps mode of working, ensuring project schedules are met with high quality while collaborating closely with business and technology teams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and support Products and Services in staging and production environments.
- Lead a team in transitioning from traditional Operations to a DevOps mode of working.
- Provide technical leadership and mentor team members.
- Manage priorities and schedules balancing multiple stakeholders' needs.
- Conduct Agile Management functions including backlog refinement, planning, monitoring, and risk management.
- Oversee operation of the production environment, including monitoring, troubleshooting, and managing escalations.
- Coordinate with Product Managers, Development teams, and Operations teams for software releases.
- Resolve issues in coordination with Customer Support and Customers.
- Establish and improve processes for timely delivery and high-quality work.
- Facilitate internal and external technical overviews and determine technical feasibility.
- Review solution architectures to ensure they meet requirements.
- Manage vendor activities including creating SOWs and monitoring performance.
- Implement and maintain automation for application environments.
- Participate in joint agile planning with Product Management and Development.
Requirements
- Significant experience with automation in a UNIX or LINUX environment.
- 5 years of experience with web application deployment and management.
- Experience with troubleshooting REST web services.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Understanding of Scrum and Kanban; Scaled Agile preferred.
- Operations experience in an Agile organization strongly preferred.
- Experience with Jenkins and Ansible preferred.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, e.g., AWS, preferred.
- Experience with Docker containers and container management platforms preferred.
- Experience with Identity and Access Management systems preferred.
