About the position

The Sr. WiFi Engineer will be part of the Wi-Fi team within Comcast's Global Devices Organization, responsible for architecting, developing, and deploying Wi-Fi stack software and wireless applications for residential and business gateways. This role involves working on the flagship OneWifi stack, which is deployed on millions of devices globally. The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team to design and develop Wi-Fi features, ensuring high-quality software delivery through testing and agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Wi-Fi features by participating in product definition, architecture, coding, and testing.
  • Participate with other engineers in design sessions and code reviews.
  • Provide thorough automated test coverage for unit, functional, and end-to-end coverage.
  • Thrive in a dynamic agile development process.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of development experience in wireless technology (Wi-Fi preferred).
  • Experience with 802.11 specifications.
  • Hands-on knowledge of cfg80211/mac80211 desirable.
  • Experience in a Linux development environment.
  • Experience using revision control systems, such as GIT and GITHUB.
  • Experience using unit testing to test code.
  • Experience using C/C++, GCC, perl, python, make.
  • Experience with embedded devices.
  • BA/BS degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Solid understanding of how to effectively test code.
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture and computer science fundamentals.
  • Able to read and understand a relatively old and medium to large code base.
  • Independent, organized, and able to work on multiple fast-paced projects at the same time.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.
  • Able to diagnose and troubleshoot code you didn't write.
  • Embrace trying new things to improve the software development process.
