Requirements

• 1 Year RN experience in a related clinical area.
• California Registered Nurse (RN) - CA Board of Registered Nursing - REQUIRED.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.
• ACLS Certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association - REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates strong nursing skills in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Acts as a clinical resource and partners with providers to expand clinical knowledge.
• Maintains current knowledge of cardiovascular pathophysiology and pharmacology.
• Ensures prompt and efficient return of messages according to established policy.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problem calls.
• Monitors patient flow and provider schedules.
• Completes daily tasks to ensure quality and meet service standards.
• Maintains established patient to nurse ratios with minimal oversight from the charge nurse.
• Assists with developing patient educational materials in partnership with providers.
• Provides on-going clinical and service support and serves as preceptor/mentor for new nurses and other staff.
• Acts as charge nurse responsible for oversight of the entire unit.
