About the position

Join our exciting team at Royal Caribbean Group as a full-time Staff Accountant, reporting to the Senior Accountant II, Cash Operations. This position is based on-site in Miramar, Florida, and involves managing the reconciliation process for multi-million-dollar revenue and expense categories across our global brands, including Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, and Silversea. The role requires analyzing, validating, and processing transactions while adhering to Sarbanes-Oxley controls and accounting policies. You will interact with various departments and external partners, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial operations.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily reconciliations of cash receipts in all currencies for 45+ general ledger accounts and document discrepancies related to data interfaces.
  • Prepare daily reconciliations for credit card settlements to multiple credit card processors.
  • Work with Treasury to validate actual funding when there are forecast variances.
  • Prepare daily reconciliations for ACH receipts from CruisePay online travel agent payment tool.
  • Ensure accuracy of all payment transactions and advise departments on necessary adjustments.
  • Notify management of potential system issues impacting payment processes.
  • Assist with audit requests from independent and internal auditors.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing on financial systems or upgrades.
  • Assist in documenting departmental procedures related to accounting functions.
  • Participate in projects and perform other job-related duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related business field.
  • Three to four years of experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of IBM AS400 Reservation and AS400 Query applications.
  • Experience with JD Edwards or similar accounting systems.
  • Proficient in Windows Operating system, PC spreadsheets, and word processing applications.
  • Ability to function in a high-volume, deadline-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Experience with banking applications/portals.
  • Knowledge of the cruise industry.
