About the position

The Staff Accountant position at SANS Institute is a remote role focused on managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate bookkeeping records, and reconciling bank statements. The accountant will work within the Billing team of the Finance business unit, handling multiple currency transactions and ensuring proper tracking of payments across various accounting systems. This role is essential for supporting the financial operations of the organization as it continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Manage credit card gateways and generate and compare reports for discrepancies, focusing on foreign legal entities.
• Create reports and enter payments data into multiple accounting systems such as Dynamics SL.
• Assist and implement new processes as the company continues to grow.
• Manage bank reports related to credit card payments, ACHs, and wires for multiple bank accounts tied to multiple entities to pass to staff accountants.
• Apply cash payments in Salesforce and Registration systems.
• Liaison with sales team members to reconcile payments.
• Other job responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting
• 1-3 years of entry level experience in accounting, accounts receivable, or billing
• Knowledge of accounting software programs specifically Dynamics SL
• Knowledge of payment Gateway software such as Cybersource, Tableau, AMEX Merchant Site

Nice-to-haves

• Proficient in Excel
• Familiar with SAP S/4 Hana and Salesforce
