Staff Accountant

About the position

MITER Brands™ is a residential window and door manufacturer that provides a leading portfolio of window and door brands for the new construction and replacement segments. MITER Brands, also known as Milgard, MI Windows & Doors and PGTI is one of the nation's largest suppliers of vinyl windows and patio doors, with plants across the country.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting and financial processes related to the preparation and maintenance of financial records.
• Audit financial transactions and produce reports.
• Assist with corporate accounting functions including fixed asset accounting, Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, accounting research, financial reporting, audits and tax compliance.
• Conduct financial analyses of operational processes/expenses.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts.
• Perform GL accounting and month-end accounting, including journal entries and analysis worksheets.
• Manage Fixed Asset accounting including CIP and process documentation.
• Perform reconciliations and generate year-end audit and tax schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in Accounting is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of accounting/finance experience.
• Thorough knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
• Experience in preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Strong Excel expertise.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
• Strong team work ethic.
