We are looking for a Staff Application Engineer to join our team in one of today's most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Director, Applications Engineering and will be based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical sales activities and develop customer relationships for distributed generation products and solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise through sales presentations and detailed customer engagements.
  • Develop strategic requirements documentation and product solutions to meet customer requirements.
  • Create conceptual designs and implementation specifications to demonstrate feasibility of solutions.
  • Support quota attainment by providing technical support and expertise to customers.
  • Define customer requirements and establish product specifications for solutions.
  • Support the Sales team with Bid and Proposal writing.
  • Overcome customer technical objections and secure project approvals.
  • Provide technical feedback based on customer requirements to engineering and product management.
  • Define the scope of work during the pre-sales process with conceptual designs for infrastructure connections.
  • Travel as needed to support sales objectives.

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in an engineering field from an accredited university or college.
  • 5+ years in a customer-facing and support role.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in power generation, critical power, or fuel cell applications.
  • Knowledge of codes (IBC, local codes), standards (IEEE), and regulations (local, national, or international).
  • Background in energy-related technology and solutions.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
