About the position

The Staff Data Engineer at Visa Technology & Operations LLC is responsible for creating new capabilities for AI as a Service while enhancing Visa's code base and development processes. This role involves investigating new requirements, designing and refactoring existing functionalities for improved performance and maintainability, and collaborating with various project team members to deliver high-quality data-driven business solutions. The position requires hands-on activities including design, documentation, development, and testing of new functionalities, ensuring that all phases of solution development are executed effectively.

Responsibilities

• Create new capabilities for AI as a Service while maturing Visa's code base and development processes.
• Investigate new requirements and design/refactor existing functionality for performance and maintainability.
• Perform hands-on activities including design, documentation, development, and testing of new functionality.
• Collaborate with project team members to ensure development and implementation of new data-driven business solutions.
• Drive development effort End-to-End for on-time delivery of high-quality solutions that conform to requirements and architectural vision.
• Responsible for all phases of solution development.
• Collaborate with senior technical staff and Product Management to identify, document, plan contingency, track and manage risks and issues until resolved.
• Present technical solutions, capabilities, considerations, and features in business terms.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a data engineer or software engineer-related occupation.
• Alternatively, a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 2 years of experience in the job offered or in a data engineer or software engineer-related occupation.
