About the position

The Staff Electrical Engineer at Evident is responsible for performing engineering design and development tasks, collaborating with a dynamic team of engineers to enhance existing products and create new, innovative solutions. This role involves mentoring junior staff, maintaining documentation, and participating in design qualification testing to ensure the delivery of high-quality electronic systems and components.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and evaluate electronic parts and components for hardware systems.
• Mentor junior employees and interns.
• Create and maintain document specifications for new and mature products.
• Manage CAD documentation and utilize the department's configuration control system.
• Participate in design qualification testing.
• Collaborate across engineering disciplines to influence team outcomes.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience or 6+ years with a Master's degree.
• Strong knowledge of schematic capture tools for analog and digital circuit designs.
• Proficient in PCB layout tools for creating multi-layer PCBs with signal integrity best practices.
• Ability to simulate and create analog designs using Op-Amps, FETs, and discrete components.
• Experience in designing analog and digital circuits for data acquisition and digital signal processing systems.
• Knowledge of Verilog HDL for FPGA designs, familiar with Xilinx and Altera devices and tools.
• Experience with MCU/application processor-based embedded system designs using various memory devices and high-speed ADCs/DACs.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, PCI-E, and USB.
• Knowledge of embedded firmware development using C and/or C++.
• Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, signal generators, and logic analyzers.
