About the position

As Form Energy scales up battery manufacturing, they are looking for a Staff Manufacturing Engineer to join their Cathode Manufacturing Engineering team in Weirton, WV. This role involves implementing new manufacturing techniques and technologies for next-generation electrode manufacturing lines, working closely with various engineering and operational teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, model and build specifications for Form's next-gen high volume mixing system.
  • Apply industry standards and best practices to deliver a world class, safe, efficient mixing process that meets targets for safety, quality and cost.
  • Partner with process engineering and R&D to validate first-in-kind production methods.
  • Work with the supply chain team to identify and partner with OEMs.
  • Perform DFM (design for manufacturing) assessments in partnership with Form's battery component design teams.
  • Plan and execute on relevant factory layout challenges.
  • Develop automated manufacturing techniques for a wide variety of operations.
  • Provide detailed estimates and budgets as needed to set capital targets for the program.
  • Expect travel to suppliers both domestically and internationally.

Requirements

  • Proven experience on mixing systems in a pilot line or manufacturing environment with 5+ years of experience, depending on one's level of education.
  • Experience in the design and operation of automated equipment for material handling and processing.
  • Experience in a variety of manufacturing technologies, which may include roll-to-roll processing, mixing technology like planetary mixers, high speed dispersion mixing and bulk material handling.
  • Experienced in NFPA relevant standards for mixing systems.
  • Well-developed collaboration skills and experience leading project execution in cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in chemical, mechanical engineering or related field.
