About the position

We're looking for a highly skilled and driven Staff Product Designer to join our new HR Apps team. This designer will ship products that help small business owners hire, manage, retain, and celebrate their team members. This person will be in a unique position to make a huge impact on Gusto and the success of customers using our products.

Responsibilities

• Work with cross-functional partners to define a long-term UX vision for the product area and how it fits into Gusto's broader vision
• Influence the definition of product strategy, roadmap, team OKRs, and project direction
• Build collective understanding of customers' HR needs through research and data
• Design and ship both net-new and iterative projects that deliver consistent value to customers
• Contribute to Gusto's product design leadership community by sharing skills and experience
• Champion the design system and platform standards, and help evolve them through product work

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience impacting design direction across multiple teams
• Comfortable presenting to executive stakeholders and demonstrating impact on business decisions
• Ability to ship customer-facing products and use design as a tool for communication and persuasion
• Advocate for customers' experience with Gusto, maintaining design quality and accessibility across screen sizes
