About the position

The Staff Research Associate 2 position at the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources in Tulare, CA, involves performing a wide variety of standard repetitive laboratory and/or field experimental procedures. The incumbent will work under supervision and is expected to operate at the full operational or journey level of skill in a specific field of expertise. This role may also involve executing a limited variety of non-standard laboratory and/or field experimental procedures that require ingenuity, resourcefulness, and adaptability to meet the special and changing needs of research in a specialized field. The incumbent will typically engage in a wide range of standard repetitive procedures without detailed technical supervision, usually within a well-established occupational field such as chemistry or microbiology. Responsibilities may include modifying, varying, or adapting standard procedures to align with the needs of various research projects. Additionally, the incumbent will be expected to analyze and alter conditions under which determinations are made, based on a thorough review of available literature. This position is a career appointment that is 100% fixed, with a pay scale ranging from $28.04 to $36.27 per hour. The role also emphasizes the importance of promoting the accomplishment of Affirmative Action goals established by the Division. The University reserves the right to make employment contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, which may include fingerprinting due to the nature of the job responsibilities. Furthermore, compliance with the University of California Policy on Vaccination Programs is required as a condition of employment, and additional health directives may apply.

Responsibilities
