About the position

The Staff Research Associate I position at The Lundquist Institute involves supporting research activities primarily in molecular biology and biochemistry. The role requires a Bachelor of Science degree and laboratory experience, focusing on tasks such as mouse colony maintenance, conducting various assays, and maintaining laboratory records. Responsibilities

• Molecular biology including qPCR, DNA electrophoresis, DNA and RNA preparation and Western Blots
• Routine histology stains, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry
• Conducts mouse colony maintenance and breeding
• Performs primary and immortalized cell culture experiments
• Conduct molecular biology assays and experiments, immunohistochemistry, immunocytochemistry, histology
• Conduct data analysis
• Maintain laboratory records, ordering/receiving, lab routine administration and IACUC

Requirements

• A BSc. degree in a relevant field (e.g., molecular biology, biochemistry)
• Laboratory experience, preferably with bench lab work
• Knowledge of immunology, molecular biology, histology, and routine biochemical assays
• Experience with mouse colony breeding and maintenance
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Nice-to-haves

• Additional experience with bench lab work
• Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate experimental needs
