Staff Site Reliability Engineer

About the position

Diligent is looking for a Staff Site Reliability Engineer to augment our Global SRE team. The Staff Site Reliability Engineer will be responsible for Diligent's Kubernetes platform, which hosts multiple global SaaS applications. Our global Kubernetes platform resides in multiple private Diligent datacenters and in multiple public Cloud providers. The ideal candidate will be passionate about technology and have extensive experience working with large Kubernetes deployments.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates strong technical leadership, typically across multiple teams.
• Able to set technical direction for the team.
• Able to spot the biggest pain points of the systems and propose solutions to improve.
• Able to influence the team culture and practices of the teams, works with self-confidence with stakeholders outside of own team.
• Experienced mentor, able to hire and onboard new members to the team.
• Knowledgeable with Industry standards.

Requirements

• 7-10 years of professional experience delivering secure applications in an agile environment.
• Bachelors' degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or related field.
• Proven experience with designing, building, securing, and managing Kubernetes at scale.
• Extensive experience with Rancher and a broad knowledge of the cloud ecosystems.
• Experience with AWS EKS and AWS Fargate is a plus.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking and knowledge on how traffic flows within pods, load balancers and the Internet.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Cross functional collaboration skills and relationship building skills are a must.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with monitoring tool such as Signalfx and ELK stack.
