About The Position

The Staff Structures Design Lead at Northrop Grumman is a key role within the Test & Evaluation organization, responsible for leading the Structural Test Design team. This position involves mentoring less experienced engineers, ensuring compliance with design requirements, and delivering data-driven presentations to both internal leadership and external customers. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem-solving, and attention to detail in a dynamic team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline and 12 years of related experience; OR a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of experience.
• Experience using CAD software, specifically NX10 and GD&T.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

• Structural Test experience across multiple engineering disciplines.

• Extensive professional experience with NX10 and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Review designs for compliance with technical requirements.
• Coordinate design criteria with internal customers, vendors, and engineering personnel.
• Evaluate design factors including manufacturing ease, cost, safety, and maintenance.
• Identify design errors and recommend revisions or improvements.
• Analyze damage tolerance, durability, and structural modeling.
