Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a highly motivated Staff Test Aeronautical Engineer (Level 5) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test & Evaluation organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the Mission Systems IPT to define the requirements for the systems under test
  • Decompose specifications to system performance, interface, test and verification requirements
  • Leading system testing, reporting, development of test procedures and data acquisition
  • Developing Mission/Model Based Test and Evaluation (MBT&E) strategies
  • Integrate, troubleshoot, and test RF sensor systems
  • Support integration / lab environment development and establishment
  • Collaborate with software, firmware, and hardware teams to understand expected unit level and system level behavior, and ensure testing is producing expected data points
  • Support the development and maintenance of system integration plans and system test plans

Requirements

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline and 12 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related professional/military experience; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline and 8 years of related professional/military experience.
  • Must be willing and able to work various shifts depending on the business needs.
  • Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the Company.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working in Flight Test or Lab Test environments
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering concepts, including requirements analysis and verification planning and execution
  • Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software in a professional setting.
