About the position

The Food Service Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading the Food & Beverage team to ensure a fresh, full, and food-safe shopping experience for guests. This role involves managing daily operations, planning workloads, and developing team members while prioritizing guest service and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Understand sales goals and execute daily/weekly workload to meet department and store sales goals.
  • Plan food service transitions, revisions, sales plans, sampling, promotions, and price change workload.
  • Work a flexible schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • Model guest service standards and develop team members to share product knowledge with guests.
  • Assess food service areas to ensure food safety and proper inventory levels.
  • Walk Food & Beverage Standards and routines daily to identify business gaps for follow-up.
  • Ensure proper execution of all food safety standards and cleaning routines.
  • Validate and follow-up on team members' progress against department checklists and routines.
  • Lead the team to uphold Starbucks and Pizza Hut Brand Standards and production specifications.
  • Foster a productive relationship with the Starbucks DM and attend required in-store planning meetings.
  • Ensure accurate in-stocks by placing store-initiated orders according to best practices.
  • Make production quantity decisions to ensure freshness and sales profitability.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Participate in team onboarding and training to close knowledge and skill gaps.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations for team members and hold them accountable.
  • Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and order pick up.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Age 18 or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong interest and knowledge of the food service business.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.
