The State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) position at Brown Memorial Nursing Home is a part-time role focused on providing direct resident care during night shifts. The facility is a not-for-profit skilled nursing home and assisted living center, emphasizing a low patient-to-aide ratio to ensure quality care. The STNA will work under the supervision of the charge nurse and is responsible for various caregiving tasks, maintaining resident rights, and ensuring safety and comfort for all residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct resident care under the supervision of the charge nurse.
• Assist new employees in following established facility policies and procedures.
• Identify special resident problems and report them immediately to the charge nurse.
• Complete assignments accurately and timely, including basic STNA skills such as toileting, transfers, bathing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
• Document resident care provided and residents' responses accurately and timely.
• Report changes in residents' conditions immediately to the charge nurse.
• Participate in mandatory in-services and attend staff meetings as assigned.
• Use supplies and equipment efficiently and effectively.
• Work cooperatively with residents, charge nurses, other nurse aides, physicians, families, and other department employees.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate dependability and punctuality.

Requirements

• Valid State Tested Nursing Assistant license.
• Completion of a state-approved certification training program or current state-tested nurse aide status.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in vital signs and caregiving preferred.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in long-term care settings.
• Ability to operate mechanical lifts.
