About the position

The Storage Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing large-scale storage solutions. This role is critical in shaping the IT infrastructure strategy, ensuring that storage systems align with business objectives while optimizing for performance, cost, and security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with various storage platforms and a proven track record in architecting high-performance and resilient storage environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of storage solutions, ensuring scalability, resilience, and alignment with business requirements.
  • Deploy and maintain storage solutions across NetApp, StorageGRID, Pure Storage, and IBM environments.
  • Analyze performance and storage utilization, optimizing configurations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance standards to protect data integrity and availability.
  • Lead storage projects from concept through execution, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for storage-related issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture, configurations, and processes.

Requirements

  • Strong experience with NetApp ONTAP, SAN, and NAS storage systems.
  • Expertise in StorageGRID object storage for large-scale unstructured data management.
  • Proficient in managing Pure Storage FlashArray and FlashBlade systems.
  • Familiar with IBM SAN, DS, and FlashSystem storage products.
  • Proven experience in architecting end-to-end storage solutions that align with enterprise needs.
  • Deep understanding of storage performance tuning, replication, and data protection strategies.
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR) and storage security best practices.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for storage automation and management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications, such as NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer (NCIE), IBM Certified Solution Architect, or Pure Storage Accredited Certification.
  • Familiarity with cloud storage integration (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid storage solutions.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) in relation to storage environments.
