About the position

The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail grocery store, ensuring compliance with company policies, managing staff, and promoting a positive shopping experience for customers. This role involves planning work schedules, recruiting and training employees, managing inventory, and maintaining store appearance while striving to meet sales and operational goals.

Responsibilities

• Manage the retail store engaged in selling grocery merchandise.
• Plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties.
• Recruit, interview, and select employees to fill vacant positions.
• Assist in formulating pricing policies on merchandise for profitability.
• Coordinate sales promotion activities and prepare merchandise displays.
• Maintain a clean and neat store appearance at all times.
• Supervise employees engaged in sales work and inventory management.
• Order merchandise to replenish stock and compare inventory to records.
• Ensure compliance with security, safety, sales, and recordkeeping procedures.
• Provide excellent customer service and address customer complaints.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents and regulations.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Mathematical skills to calculate discounts, interest, and percentages.
• Reasoning ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
• Must hold a valid driver's license.
