Store Sales Associate

About the position

Deseret Book Company is seeking part-time sales associates to join our team in Pocatello, ID. Our company has been a trusted leader in providing content and lifestyle products to support members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints since 1866. We are committed to creating resources that build faith, strengthen families, and promote personal virtues. The position requires exceptional sales and customer service skills to effectively sell Deseret Book products and services. Associates will assist customers with various tasks including operating cash registers, locating products, taking orders, and gift-wrapping. The role also involves maintaining the store's appearance and organization by stocking shelves and assisting with merchandise presentation. Various shifts are available, including days, evenings, and Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Exhibit exceptional, world-class sales and customer service skills by selling Deseret Book products and services.
• Assist customers by operating cash registers, locating products, taking orders, imprinting, and gift-wrapping.
• Maintain store appearance and organization by stocking shelves, unpacking merchandise shipments, and assisting with merchandise presentation.
• Work various shifts including days, evenings, and Saturdays.

Requirements

• Excellent customer service skills
• Good product knowledge preferred
• Computer skills helpful
• Good team skills
• Self-motivated
• Flexible to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, and Saturdays
• Ability to hear, understand, and respond to customers and associates
• Ability to locate and identify product for customers
• Ability to regularly lift 20 lbs and occasionally lift 35-50 lbs
• Able to stand for long periods of time.
