About the position

The Strategic Marketing Director at ITW's Alpine division is responsible for leading product management and marketing activities to achieve strategic objectives and financial goals. This role involves developing and executing the Annual Plan and Long Range Plan, leveraging market insights to identify growth opportunities, and collaborating with various teams to drive innovation and accountability in product development.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and execution of product management and marketing activities for the Alpine business.
  • Develop and execute the Annual Plan/Long Range Plan based on market segmentation and customer needs.
  • Build the division's Customer Back Innovation (CBI) strategy to identify growth opportunities.
  • Lead the identification and prioritization of new opportunities in collaboration with Sales, Engineering, and Software Development teams.
  • Manage the CBI process execution to drive technology breakthroughs and new product development plans.
  • Drive Voice of Customer (VOC) initiatives and product roadmaps to address customer pain points.
  • Ensure stakeholder buy-in for product and application roadmaps and lifecycle assessments.
  • Partner with HR to develop a structure and competencies that support growth initiatives.
  • Build a talent pipeline through external hiring and development of current staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering; Master's Degree in Business or Marketing is a plus.
  • 7+ years in progressive business management, including experience leading engineering, sales, and/or marketing teams.
  • Prior experience leading a marketing team in a complex environment, ideally with durable goods and software.
  • Strong track record in differentiated product development and customer back innovation processes.
  • Experience in data-driven business analytical approaches and reporting.
  • Ability to prioritize and maintain an aggressive growth mindset.
  • Proven ability to generate respect and trust from staff and external constituencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a technically advanced product environment.
  • Familiarity with ITW Toolbox principles.
