About the position

The Strategic Sourcing Analyst at The University of Kansas Health System plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the contract relationships and processes for strategic contracting activities. This position collaborates with various departments, including legal, supply chain, and vendor management, to ensure high-value outcomes in contract execution and compliance. The analyst is responsible for overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to negotiation and management, while also ensuring alignment with the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Execute activities related to the department's strategic plan.
  • Support the strategic contract plan through continuous program review.
  • Remove risks associated with contract activation or inactivation.
  • Manage the contract management pipeline for timely execution of contracts.
  • Conduct competitive bidding for contracts via RFX processes.
  • Negotiate contracts to achieve the highest value outcomes.
  • Initiate local contracts when necessary.
  • Inactivate non-utilized or redundant contracts.
  • Partner with legal and contracting leadership to align processes with industry standards.
  • Support system leaders with contracts and quotes for optimal outcomes.
  • Escalate negotiations requiring higher-level approvals.
  • Manage vendor relations and facilitate Vendor Business Reviews.
  • Monitor industry trends and economic factors relevant to contracts.
  • Support MSA work related to contract controls.
  • Ensure completion of the contracting cycle with Business Sourcing teams.
  • Assist in developing and executing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited College or University or a Master's Degree from an accredited College or University.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in Supply Chain or Contracting, including contract negotiations.
  • Excellent communication and written skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of legal or contract negotiations experience.
  • TUKHS Lean Certification upon Hire.
