About the position
We are seeking a Structural/Civil Engineer with a P.E. license and a construction background to conduct forensic investigations of commercial, institutional, high-rise, and residential buildings. The role involves a variety of engineering assignments, including determining the cause of structural failures, identifying construction defects, and assessing water/moisture intrusion, roof damages, flooring damages, and foundation/settlement issues. Additional projects may include storm damage assessments and post-fire damage evaluations, along with providing professional opinions and expert witness testimony.
Responsibilities
- Determine the cause and origin of structural failures and construction defects
- Conduct field inspections to document onsite conditions
- Conduct roof damage evaluations for residential and commercial structures
- Conduct moisture/water intrusion damage evaluations
- Prepare and provide oral and written reports
- May be called upon for expert witness testimony
Requirements
- BSCE
- 7+ years of professional experience
- P.E. license in state applying to (ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT)
- NCEES (Preferred)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of building materials, residential and commercial construction, and building codes
