As a Structural Engineer at Tetra Tech, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) with critical infrastructure projects funded through significant federal investments. With a focus on the design and construction of essential civil works structures, you will collaborate with national industry leaders and local experts to deliver innovative solutions for our nation's waterways. This position is based in the Pittsburgh Design Center, where you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team engaged in high-priority projects such as the rehabilitation of navigation lock and dam systems, the design of new navigation locks, and coastal protection initiatives. Your responsibilities will include structural design and analysis of various civil works structures, including flood walls, navigation locks, dam structures, waterfront structures, bridges, and pump stations. You will produce calculations using engineering formulas, perform quality control checks on calculations and drawings, and research design options to document findings for senior engineers. Additionally, you will be involved in reviewing shop drawings and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) during construction, ensuring that all designs meet the required standards and specifications.
