With high-level goals provided, leads teams to create structural analyses and designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, reinforced masonry, and other metal structures of moderate to high complexity to meet client project requirements. The role involves directing the development of models, drawings, and specifications, arranging/layout structural systems and elements for strength, stability, constructability, and construction economy. The position also includes reviewing draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signing off on completed designs. Coordination with other engineering disciplines is essential, as well as ensuring that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs. Additional responsibilities include performing structural condition assessments, contributing to the firm's technical knowledge management by developing white papers and technical design documentation, and submitting technical papers for publishing to technical journals. The role requires collaboration with sales staff to create proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs) and reviewing draft proposals for adherence to regulations and best practices. The position may involve meeting with clients to review their design needs, attending conferences to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services, and acting as the primary point of contact for external clients. The role also includes providing technical guidance and training to junior staff, mentoring them for future growth, and supervising their work on project tasks.
