Structural Engineer, PE

The position involves managing the design and engineering of projects and providing engineering interface for these projects with all other functional areas of the company while providing technical training and checking the work of less experienced associates.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment and the production of high-quality products.
• Interface with sales, estimating, project management, and operations, as well as the customer (general contractor and architect/engineer) to accomplish the task of engineering package generation, submittal and approval.
• Supply the plant with details and information for fabrication and provide the erector with plans and information for construction.
• Resolve any questions, conflicts or issues that may arise in these areas.
• Lead two to four designers and one or two entry-level engineers on a project by project basis.
• Generate designs and drawings for the precast concrete system from construction documents consisting of architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
• Manage the design and drafting of several projects at a time, either with internal resources or utilizing outside resources.
• Provide sales support as assigned by Engineering Supervisor.
• Ensure field inspections on projects are performed, including writing Observation Reports and developing and tracking field repairs.

Requirements

• Registration as a PE is required.
• College Degree (4-year) is required.
• Graduate Degree in Engineering preferred, which may substitute for 1-year experience.
• 6 (+) years of experience, with at least 2 years of industry related experience preferred.
• 2 (+) years of experience in a similar supervisory role preferred.
