About the position

As a Project (Structural) Engineer, your relevant experience will influence the project assignments given to you. Experience in industrial plant structures is a plus. The primary focus will be on foundation design and structural steel design and detailing for projects in various sectors such as oil & gas, manufacturing, chemical facilities, pulp & paper, utilities, private marine & ports, and carbon capture. Projects can range from $10M to $50M.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist other engineering disciplines in support of projects.
  • Collaborate and direct as necessary drafting and design of structures.
  • Expand, maintain, and utilize a working knowledge of shallow and deep foundation types, general framing and building systems, plan preparation, construction considerations, and building codes.
  • Conduct on-site work including damage assessment and construction field observation.
  • Understand and implement practical application of structural engineering standards.
  • Manage structural engineering projects.
  • Travel approximately 2-3 days every 2-3 months.

Requirements

  • Design experience with concrete and structural steel.
  • Experience with structural engineering software such as RISA, Mathcad Prime, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft 365 products.
  • Registered professional engineer for at least 1 year.
  • 5+ years of experience designing with structural steel and reinforced concrete.
  • Experience with seismic analysis, design, and detailing.
  • Experience with AISC 341 detailing for steel structures.
  • Ability to develop and review structural calculations and drawings for permitting/third party review.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • Experience with building design and light architectural experience.
  • Experience with pre-engineered structures/light gauge steel.
  • License in CA, OR, WA, UT.
  • Seismic code and design experience.
