About The Position

The Structural Engineering Professional Associate at Jacobs Engineering Group is responsible for the development and design of bridge projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations. This role involves both independent and collaborative work, including field reconnaissance, design calculations, and project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience in bridge design and structural engineering.
• Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in structural design software and tools.

• Experience with transportation structures including retaining walls and drainage structures.

Responsibilities

• Develop bridge designs either self-performed or performed by others.
• Sign and seal own work and work performed by others as the responsible professional engineer.
• Perform field reconnaissance of existing bridges and develop strategies for repair and rehabilitation.
• Review shop drawings and other construction-related submittals and RFIs.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and analyze complex bridge elements based on project specifications and standards.
• Ensure that bridge designs comply with relevant local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and records.
• Perform and direct others in performing structural design calculations for prestressed concrete girder bridges and other transportation structures.
• Develop engineering design calculations, drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and reports.
• Perform quality reviews and research design options.
