About the position

The Stryker Field Service Representative (FSR) Academy, part of General Dynamics, is designed to produce highly skilled maintenance technical experts for the Stryker Family of Vehicles. This full-time position involves a comprehensive 400-hour training program at Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM), WA, where graduates will learn advanced troubleshooting and repair techniques. FSRs will provide direct support to military units, requiring potential relocation and travel for assignments both within the continental U.S. (CONUS) and outside (OCONUS).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the General Dynamics Land System representative assigned to Stryker Brigades and other Stryker-equipped units worldwide.
  • Travel CONUS or OCONUS to support the customer when required.
  • Monitor and maintain configuration management for Stryker variants of vehicles.
  • Conduct hands-on training or sustainment training programs for General Dynamics Land Systems mechanics and United States Army Mechanics, Operators, or Leaders.
  • Oversee and assist with preventive maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on all Stryker variants, including sub-components and LRUs.
  • Troubleshoot and correct malfunctions in automotive systems using built-in test equipment (BITE) and manual troubleshooting procedures.
  • Complete maintenance and administrative forms and other paperwork related to performance of duties.
  • Provide property accountability for all assigned property.
  • Assist with welding procedures based on company guidelines.
  • Perform duties as site Field Representative, including Environmental, Hazmat, Safety, and Fire prevention functions.
  • Complete status and progress reports as required.

Requirements

  • Completion of High School / GED required; Associate degree preferred or equivalent technical certification.
  • Six (6) to nine (9) years of related work experience; equivalent military service acceptable.
  • Strong understanding and ability to provide a high level of customer service under potentially stressful situations.
  • Documented commercial training and/or experience preferred.
  • Military school trained wheel vehicle mechanic (such as US Army MOSs 63B, 63S, 63W or 63B MCM or USMC MOSs 2147, 3521, 3522, 3524) acceptable.
  • Read and interpret troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures and flow diagrams for systems, subsystems, and components required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain and maintain successful NACI background for CAC (Common Access Card).
  • Depending on final assignment status, possible secret clearance will be required.
