About The Position

Utah Valley University is seeking a student to work at the Climbing Wall in the Student Life and Wellness Center. This position involves facilitating climbing activities, ensuring safety, and providing excellent customer service to patrons.

Requirements

• Must be a current UVU student with graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Experience with the basics of rock climbing.
• Knowledge of current best practices set forth by the management and Climbing Wall Association.
• Proficient in knot tying and belaying.
• Familiar with proper climbing form and technique.

Responsibilities

• Work climbing times as scheduled and facilitate special groups.
• Assist in clinics and teach patrons.
• Work independently and manage the entire facility during operating hours.
• Process participant paperwork, check-in, and conduct belay checks and lead tests.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and constant safety monitoring of all wall users.
• Enforce proper technique and safety policies.
• Operate POS system, cash register, and membership software efficiently.
• Demonstrate exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and friendly attitude.
