Responsibilities

• Edit sports stories
• Write sports stories
• Assign stories to other writers
• Work with Co-editors to determine layout and priorities
• Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Enrolled at JJC for 6 or more credit hours
• GPA 2.0 or above
• Writing experience on a student newspaper
• Ability to work in Word and other applications
• Ability and willingness to work with others in a team environment
• Ability to interview coaches/players and produce original material
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.

Nice-to-haves

• Sports Writing experience
• Editing experience, sports or other
• Ability to manage others
• English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency
• Demonstrated multicultural competence.
