About the position

The Student Engagement, Culinary, & Marketing Specialist will oversee student and community engagement, focusing on driving participation in culinary programs through various initiatives. This role involves organizing community and student events, conducting surveys and focus groups, and showcasing Chartwells K12 programs. The specialist will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that enhance the visibility and appeal of child nutrition programs. This includes creating promotional materials, engaging with students, parents, and staff, and ensuring that the culinary offerings meet the needs and preferences of the community. The position requires a proactive approach to community engagement, utilizing innovative marketing practices to foster a positive dining experience for students. In this role, the specialist will collaborate closely with the culinary team to develop marketing strategies for new menu items and nutrition education initiatives. They will also implement social media strategies to promote healthy eating habits and engage with the community. Regular monitoring and evaluation of marketing activities will be essential to assess their effectiveness and make necessary adjustments. The specialist will play a crucial role in training and supporting operators in implementing student-facing programs and ensuring that the front-of-house operations align with the overall goals of the organization. This position is vital for enhancing the overall student experience and maximizing participation in nutrition programs.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee student and community engagement initiatives.
  • Organize community and student events to drive participation in culinary programs.
  • Conduct surveys and focus groups to gather feedback and insights.
  • Showcase Chartwells K12 programs through various marketing strategies.
  • Develop and execute marketing plans in collaboration with operators and regional support teams.
  • Analyze customer research, market conditions, and competitor information to inform marketing strategies.
  • Monitor and report on all marketing activities and outcomes.
  • Train and support operators in implementing student-facing programs and processes.
  • Customize marketing materials such as social media posts, flyers, and brochures.
  • Assess front-of-house operations to ensure quality student experiences and improve standards over time.
  • Collect data on return on investment and key performance metrics for marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with schools, parents, and community organizations to promote nutrition education events.
  • Work with the culinary team to develop marketing strategies for new menu items and nutrition education lessons.
  • Implement social media strategies to engage the community and promote healthy eating habits among children.
  • Evaluate community engagement efforts through surveys and data analysis, adjusting strategies as needed.

Requirements

  • 1 year of marketing experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present to large groups effectively.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and promotions.
  • Proficient in MS Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing is a plus.
