About The Position

The Mining Engineering Student Intern position at RESPEC is a temporary part-time role designed for students pursuing a degree in engineering. The intern will assist in various projects related to geologic and reserves modeling, mine planning, environmental engineering, and permitting, working under the guidance of experienced professionals. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in the mining sector and the opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in geological, mechanical, mining, civil engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience and/or education in using AutoCAD, IntelliCAD, Carlson software, Surpac, or other mine planning software.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in spreadsheets and databases.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication abilities, both written and oral.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in projects involving geologic and reserves modeling.
  • Support mine planning activities.
  • Contribute to environmental engineering tasks.
  • Aid in the permitting process for mining operations.
