Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, career services, or a related field (for SL-2 level).
  • Master's degree in education, counseling, career services, or a related field (for SL-3 level).
  • General experience in academic advising, career coaching, student support services, or related (for SL-2 level).
  • 2+ years of academic advising, career coaching, student support services, or related (for SL-3 level).

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized academic advising to students, helping them set and achieve their educational goals.
  • Assist students in developing academic plans and strategies to successfully complete their programs.
  • Collaborate with instructors to track student performance and identify those in need of additional support.
  • Conduct regular check-ins with students to assess progress, address challenges, and celebrate achievements.
  • Connect students with academic and support resources, including tutoring, financial aid, and career services.
  • Facilitate workshops and information sessions on topics such as time management, study skills, and career planning.
  • Develop and implement initiatives aimed at increasing student retention and engagement.
  • Identify at-risk students and develop intervention strategies to support their success.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with students, faculty, and staff to foster a supportive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with community partners to enhance resources and support services available to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
  • Prepare reports on student outcomes and program effectiveness to inform continuous improvement.
  • Stay informed about best practices in student support and adult education.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills.
