Responsibilities

  • Provide literacy and math support and tutoring to students in the Selinsgrove Area School District.
  • Attend all scheduled shifts, arriving on time, and leave the building when the shift is over.
  • Ensure reliable transportation to the off-campus jobsite.
  • Create a schedule with the cooperating teacher and keep the teacher informed of any changes.
  • Tutor students in practicing math skills, reviewing spelling words, studying for tests, and reading.
  • Help students with homework and assist them using a computer for Study Island, PSSA prep, or other study reasons.
  • Build a positive rapport with students and encourage them to put forth effort.

Requirements

  • Education majors are preferred, but students in any major with a desire to assist Selinsgrove Area School District students will be successful.
  • Must be organized, creative, responsible, and dedicated.
  • Must be Federal Word Study eligible.
  • Must hold Act 24 Criminal Background, Act 151 Child Abuse History, and FBI fingerprinting and background clearances.

Benefits

  • Paid $8.00 per hour.
