About the position

The Summer 2025 Intern in Event Management at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is a paid internship designed for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. This role provides direct exposure to the Bank's operations, focusing on event planning and operations. Interns will engage in project-based assignments and professional development activities, contributing to the Bank's mission while gaining insights into the Federal Reserve System.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with Chicago Federal Reserve employees on various projects related to Event Management, focusing on Event Planning and Operations.
  • Assist, register, and direct guests upon arrival to the conference center.
  • Assist with producing online and hybrid events.
  • Assist with the logistics of event setup, communications, and client contact using Event Management Tool.
  • Assist with data gathering for metrics reporting.
  • Create reports and provide analysis on the metrics gathered.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality/Hotel Management, Communications/Marketing or related field.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Must be a current, matriculated student graduating August 2024 or later.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75 (unofficial transcripts may be requested).
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week throughout the 10-12 week internship program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • High degree of customer service with a professional demeanor.
  • Strong organizational and technical skills.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and motivated individual able to perform in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Intermediate working knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Ability to verbally present information and respond to questions from small to medium groups.
  • Ability to interpret data and analytics to develop insights and support decision-making processes.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Ability to interact with internal and external clients professionally in a fast-paced environment.
