About the position

The position involves performing a variety of routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The role requires conducting high complexity testing, validating and reporting test results, and ensuring quality control measures are documented and maintained. Additionally, the position includes maintaining equipment, managing supplies, and participating in continuing education to stay updated in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and special diagnostic procedures on clinical specimens.
  • Conduct high complexity testing according to established procedures.
  • Validate and report results of tests performed.
  • Document Quality Control measures.
  • Perform instrument and equipment maintenance according to policy and procedures.
  • Maintain adequate stock of reagents and supplies.
  • Participate in continuing education.

Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Medical Technology or related science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics) OR Certificate of Completion of a Medical Technology Training Program.
  • Associates Degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or related science WITH ASCP Certification as a Medical Technologist ' MT (ASCP).
  • Above Average Verbal Communication Skills (Heavy Public Contact).
  • Writing/Composing skills for correspondence and reports.
  • Analytical skills and knowledge of medical terms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with statistical analysis and research.
  • Proficiency in using MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access.
