About the position

Supervises and provides work direction to ensure that daily responsibilities of staff technologists are properly delegated. Performs diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images. Produces quality computed tomography exam images and exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Provides for patient care and initiates life support measure as necessary. Interacts effectively with patients, physicians, family members, department staff, and healthcare workers. Expert skills and knowledge to operate CT equipment to produce quality CT scans as well as the ability to perform related procedures and protocols. Demonstrates the ability to learn and utilize new technology as well as orient new employees. Possesses the ability to professionally obtain information from patients or their responsible parties to further improve their personalized treatment and care. On a continuum, acts as a CT Technologist and works to develop an understanding of the patient's physical and emotional status. Works with all age groups.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide work direction to staff technologists.
  • Perform diagnostic computed tomography (CT) scan images.
  • Produce quality computed tomography exam images.
  • Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures.
  • Provide patient care and initiate life support measures as necessary.

Requirements

  • Completion of an educational program and clinical experience accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Satisfactory completion of formal Radiologic Technology training in an AMA approved school or JCERT accredited program.
  • Two years' experience as a staff CT technologist.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Computerized Tomography (CT) certified.
  • Licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board if working in North Dakota.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and I.V. certification within six weeks of employment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous supervisory experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Thorough understanding of CT techniques, procedures, and quality control (QC) testing.
