About the position

The Supervisor, Customer Site position at Thermo Fisher Scientific is responsible for leading a team of on-site lab specialists to ensure high levels of customer service at the West Hills, CA location. This role involves overseeing various service offerings, managing the employee lifecycle, and collaborating with management to meet contractual obligations and improve service delivery. The supervisor will also act as a liaison between the customer and the company, ensuring compliance with safety standards and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the daily supervision of a team of customer onsite personnel.
  • Oversee service offerings including order/stockroom/dock management, procurement, and material handling.
  • Manage the complete employee lifecycle including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Deliver on committed contractual scope of work and develop business metrics.
  • Collaborate with the Program/Regional Manager for customer performance reviews.
  • Act as a liaison between the customer and Thermo Fisher Scientific.
  • Write and implement SOPs and conduct site audits.
  • Define new opportunities for service expansion and partner with sales teams.
  • Drive a culture of process improvement and support safety programs.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in managed services in a laboratory setting.
  • GxP Experience and IATA/DOT certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with a basic understanding of employment/labor law regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Basic chemical knowledge including handling and calculations.
  • Strong analytical abilities to problem solve and manage multiple priorities.

  • Military Service/Training in lieu of a degree may be considered.
