About the position

The Supervisor - Maintenance at Carpenter Technology is responsible for overseeing maintenance employees, ensuring efficient operations, and promoting a positive work environment. This role involves guiding and supervising staff, addressing performance issues, executing maintenance operations, and maintaining safety standards within the manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide guidance, direction, and supervision to maintenance employees.
  • Address performance issues promptly.
  • Promote company policies and safety plans.
  • Execute planned and scheduled maintenance operations.
  • Maintain a positive work environment through regular communication with employees.
  • Organize and maintain productive work areas.
  • Collaborate with others to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; two-year degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience in a manufacturing/maintenance environment.
  • Management expertise to improve efficiency and meet operational objectives.
  • Knowledge of industrial/maintenance principles, standards, methods, and practices.
  • Experience with disciplined problem-solving methods.
  • Understanding of positive employee relations practices.
  • Ability to coach and provide performance feedback.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with high performance expectations.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills and good business judgment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence others.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience troubleshooting drives, transformers, instrumentation, and motors.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • Experience with calibration and TUS/SAT programs.
  • Familiarity with using flukes, volt meters, amp clamps, and oscilloscopes.
