About the position

The Supervisory Engineering Technician will serve as a senior engineering resource within the FST Engineering Division at FLTREADCEN EAST. This role involves overseeing engineering projects related to subsystems and flight controls, establishing performance standards, and ensuring high-quality engineering products and services. The technician will also mentor subordinates, promote team building, and maintain communication with leadership on technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior engineering resource for subsystems and flight controls.
• Establish performance standards and assess performance of subordinates.
• Counsel, evaluate, and recommend awards for team members.
• Maintain communication with FST and Competency leadership on technical issues.
• Provide recommendations for annual and multi-year work plans, goals, and objectives.
• Advise and mentor subordinates on technical and administrative matters.
• Promote team building and quality customer service goals.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen.
• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level.
• Experience in maintaining close involvement with Program Managers/IPT Leaders in engineering software development.
• Ability to establish performance standards and assess subordinate performance.
• Experience in managing and controlling workload to meet customer requirements.
• Ability to establish standard processes and incorporate new technology.
