About the position

The Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) position at the Department of Defense involves overseeing the Human Resources Technical Services Division. The role focuses on managing HR data processing, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. The position is responsible for supervising staff, conducting training, and supporting quality assurance initiatives within the HR framework.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a first line supervisor in the HR Technical Services Division.
  • Provide full functional, technical, and operational management and support in HR data processing.
  • Manage standard and complex issues in the processing of data within the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System (DCPDS).
  • Support HR Quality Assurance/Control Program and HR Audit Steadiness (AuS) efforts.
  • Conduct testing for the Management Internal Control Program (MICP).
  • Prepare and review recurring reports for MICP audits and initiatives.
  • Work with HR management and staff regarding analysis and review of operations, programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Determine training requirements and conduct training related to DCPDS and other HR information systems.
  • Perform full range of supervisory responsibilities including work assignment, performance evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

Requirements

  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 level in federal service for GS-11 consideration.
  • Specialized experience includes providing HR advisory services and technical assistance regarding staffing theories and concepts.
  • For GS-12 consideration, one year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 level in federal service is required, including comprehensive HR advisory services.
  • Experience in conducting job analysis, assessing recruitment sources, and applying pay setting regulations.
